So, last weekend was NYCC and it was absolutely THE BEST weekend of my life. It was my first ComicCon so I wasn't really sure what to expect. I went all 4 days and it was extremely overwhelming, but it was so worth it!
Thursday was pretty low key. I went with my best friend Sammy and her sister, and since this was her fifth con, she gave me the lay of the land and we didn't do too much. My favorite part was artists alley. I ended up buying a shitload of art and even ended up getting a commission before the con was over.
The cosplay I wanted to do for Friday didn't work out, so I got up early and made a Plumbob and decided to go as a Sim and it was so much fun!
I went to my first panel on Friday. The Nerdist writers panel with Ben Blacker and featuring Brian K Vaughn. It was really infomative and I learned a lot. After that, Sammy was heading across town to a Neil Gaiman panel and I decided to check out the Birdman panel with Michael Keaton and Ed Norton, moderated by CHRIS HARDWICK!!! I was soooo nervous just to be in the same room as him since I admire him so much. My plan was to ask a question about the movie and then quickly ask Chris for a selfie, but they never opened the floor to questions. However, as soon as the panel was over everyone stormed the stage to get to Chris and I think he was caught a little bit off guard at first, but he said he would stay as long as they let him. I made my way up to him and I actually got to meet him! It was so amazing! He was really nice, and when he saw that I was crying (part nerves, part excitement) he pulled me in for a second hug and told me it was ok. It was the most amazing moment. I came face to face with the man responsible for the fact that you are reading this post right now. And as I was leaving the panel room, gathering myself together, he tweeted me twice!!!
We saw so much awesome cosplay on Saturday, including this AWESOME Star Lord (@its_just_koch on IG)
But the highlight of my day was the parade of Deadpools!!! Ben and I were walking down Artists Alley when suddenly we see a wall of Deadpools coming towards us, so we joined right in! They marched to one of the artists booths and were chanting for him. Ben and I were standing behind them and then Ben yells "TURN AROUND!!!" And they do! So I jump in the middle and join the party!!!
It was amazing!!! I told Sammy on Thursday that I wanted to take a picture "surrounded by Deadpools" and that's EXACTLY what I got!!! After all of the Deadpool hysteria died down, we walked around a little bit more and ended up walking past a booth playing Run DMC and I'm nodding my head like "I know this song" and I look up and guess who I see?
***DISCLAIMER!!! IF YOU DON'T WANT TO KNOW WHAT I SAW, STOP READING!!!!***
The clip started with Tony, Steve, Clint, Tasha, Thor, Bruce, Agent Coulson and Hill and Rhody sitting in Tony's apartment shooting the shit. Mjölnir was sitting on the coffee table and Tony was saying that he could lift it. He tried to lift it and he couldn't. So he goes and gets an arm from one of the suits and still couldn't do it, so him and Rhody try and still nothing happens, so Tony says that Thor must have some kind of fingerprint recognition on the handle. Then Clint tries and nothing happens, next up was Bruce and he couldn't do it and let's out like a Hulk screech. Then Steve gets up and tries. He tries to pick it up and it moves a little and everyone gets quiet and Thor looks visibly shaken. Although it moves a little, he's not able to pick it up and Thor kind of relaxes. They all laugh and then something crashes through the door and we see what looks like one of Tony's suits.
The trailer was so crazy and amazing and fast paced, I honestly don't remember individual pieces of it, but they have a distopian sounding version of "I Have No Strings" from Pinocchio running through the whole thing and it seriously gave me chills. It was amazing!!

The rest of Sunday was pretty uneventful. My other BFF Ashley came with her boyfriend, so I showed them around the con. Ashley and I went to the American Dad panel and Sir Patrick Stewart was a surprise guest panelist and it was really funny. After that we just walked around and visited some booths before calling it a day.
All in all, comic con was an AMAZING experience and a fire has been lit! I have so many plans for the future of this blog and podcast. Thank you all for hanging in there and reading the blog on a regular basis. I promise I'm going to get better at posting on a more consistent basis and keeping everything up to date. And feel free to leave comments and email me! I want to hear from you guys!!!
